strathisla distillery is in the small town of keith on speyside.
down a leafy lane and their it is, quite pretty with a working watermill.
strathisla is the heart of chivas regal
the tour is quite refreshing, first into to study for tea and shotbread, all included in the fee which at the time of the visit was £4, then a self guided tour and the chance to talk to that staff in all areas of the distillery which was quite informative and not rushed as you are able to go at a pace which suite you
then back to the study for a tutored nosing, raw spirit, 5 year old, the finnished malt and chivas.
then it was time for the dram and a nose round the shop which was quite extensive, a nice distillery but not in full production at the time due to the fact that the warehouses were quite full thumbup

Jealousy is a bad thing, but my eyes are green with envy. Would love to visit this distillery and my other one I must get to is Glen Grant and the Victorian Woodland Gardens, which in recent years have been restored, under difficulties because of weather conditions. Particular features are the viewpoint at the top of the garden - then Major Grant's Dram Hut and Whisky Safe, also the Dram Pavilion, the Bog Garden, Cherry Orchard and Apple Orchard.

I would love to visit this and Glen Grant as well, both seem wonderful. If you get to Dufftown of course there's a chance of doing Glenlivet, Glenfiddich etc on the Whisky Trail http://www.maltwhiskytrail.com/trail.html

no not done the whisky trail as such but when we go to different part of scotland it would seem a shame no to get to as many distilleries as possible, the most northerly distillery i have been to is glenmorangie but have beeb to cardhu, glenfiddich, glenlivet, dalwhinnie, mull, fettercairne and others not listed here, reviews will appear as i go through my notes Wink
