out of pitlochry towards braemar, through moulin and the miro brewery and as the road bends sharp left, take a right down a narrow road and arrive at the smallest distillery in scotland.
red and white buildings with a steam running between the building, first a dram and a video, distillery is run by three men and is now owned by signatory, they are starting to bottle quite a few expressions of this malt.
after the video, up to the old malt barn for a look at the distillery history and then to the mash room, then the still house so small i could just about reach the top of the still, excellent tour and on my last visit it was still free, shop is small but well stocked, no coffee shop but back the way you came and into the moulin inn for a coffee, home brewed excellent ale or a dram, a good day Cool Cool stayed yheir a few times and very friendly but low beams in the bar, ouch :D

I love the walk up along the bridge and just the whole atmosphere of the place, it's like an old farmhouse distillery.

The Moulin Brewery is situated in the old coach house of the Moulin Hotel, an early 18th centuary inn. It opened in 1995, and the craft brewery makes four ales that you can sample in the hotel. Excellent beer and wonderful location.

hi mad dog
since signatory bought the distillery they have found alsorts in the warehouses, we were their last year and the guide said it was amazing what type of cask had been used as a trial, i bought a few 50cl bottles of limited bottlings from various woods to add to my collection as they were only a few casks of each, i think if you can get some unusual bottlings it will be worth it if only as an investment Wink

not sure if you have been before to edradour, and looking at your itinery it is your last visit. why not pop into the moulin inn on your way back into pitlochry and sample some of the excellent ale from the micro brewery if not already done so, mind you head on the beams in the bar Exclamation Exclamation or you can pick some up at robertsons at the end of the main street, they also have have a great range of whisky Wink
