At The Organic Wine Press, It is our goal to bring you simple shopping
for Organic, No Sulfite and No Spray wines, with as little flash and fanfare
as is possible! In the last twenty years the Organic wine label has gone
from working against the wine, to becoming a big plus to many consumers.
We try to bring you a well rounded selection of wines from around
the globe. We are adding more wines as they become available. All The wines
we carry are Organic, or No Spray (marked as such). The wines that
have no sulfites added are marked, NSA.

All of the wines are Earth-friendly, made in partnership with nature from certified organically grown grapes. They are free of pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers and other synthetic chemicals, and essential natural preservatives like sulfur dioxide are kept to a minimum. In the cellar, modern and traditional techniques are combined, producing the best possible wines with the fewest detrimental effects on the environment. Grapes are often picked by hand and the wine made gently, with minimal handling and filtration.

Organic Grapes into Wine Alliance (OGWA) was born in 1989 on a concerted effort of wine makers, grape growers and winetrades people to support the production of wines made from organically grown grapes. We do this through establishing production standards, education, cooperation and leadership.
The commitment of our members stems from their deeply rooted desire to practice responsible agriculture, and to care for Mother Earth and affect change through positive action and the production of earth-friendly products.
The media has had a field day informing ( and sometimes misinforming) their readers about the generalities and subtleties of wines made from organically-grown grapes. The winetrade itself, knowingly or not,. has sometimes perpetrated falsehoods and half truths through simple misunderstandings. The early years of the organic foods industry were built on self proclamations, claims and testimonials; but the times they are a changing. To foster long lasting demand for wines made from organically grown grapes. OGWA wants to eliminate the myths and misunderstandings through education of not only consumers but also distributors, retailers and wine producers themselves. This website will attempt to lay a foundation of truth and fairplay from which an appreciation of this most exciting facet of winemaking can be better understood.
