I've been very bad with buying new finishes. Tried the Port Wood and the Millenium edition at 12 years and both were fine.

Also have a bottle of Glenfiddich 21 yr old 40% Gran Reserva, not opened but this is what the ad claims:

This 21 year old completed its maturation in Havana Cuban rum casks.
It is vibrant long and rich.
Initially a toffee sweetness becoming more drying with spice notes and hints of sweet tobacco and leather.

Maybe we should start a forum for Rum, anyone out there partial?

hi greengretnaz
rum used to be my tipple before i grew up
i have been lucky enough to have a few drams of gran reserva (pity you can't still get it cos i would love one for my collection) its that good that when the bottle was empty i sucked the cork. its rich and sherried and has to be a classic and i would give it 9/10

Never use definites in the whisky world, they say a whisky distillery has closed, wait a bit, put the price up, repackage it and make a small fortune!

I can personally recommend Loch Fyne the first link, used them for years and they send you a whisky list for minatures and 70 cl bottles twice a year plus their own newsletter. Once sent me a minature I had by mistake and told me to keep it! All these have the Gran Reserva for sale when i looked but give them a view.
