That episode and the one before repeated on Sunday about 6.15ish. You've only missed the first two parts. Two cousins never met that are taken in by Mr. Chardice with another young woman as companion for the female cousin. The two cousins are wards of court until the case of Chardice vs Chardice is settled. The case involves a will that could leaves thousands to whoever but there are many wills and all very badly written.
The companion does not know who her parents were. The story keeps making links with Chardice, with Lady Deadlock and people seem to recognise her like the french ladies maid last night. Her aunt had kept her but said that her mother was evil and had done an evil act that the daughter should be punished for, whether this means marriage out of wedlock etc., she dosn't know, but she was left to be looked after by Mr. Chardice.
Lady Deadlock is looking into a dead legal writer called Nemo (meaning no-one) as he may of been a former lover but the Charles Dance character hates her, as she is a pleb that has married gentry in his eyes and he is finding out as much about Nemo to use against her....the story continues......

I read too much though and give away a few deaths that are going to happen |
well i think i am going stick with it, my wife almost fell of the sofa when she saw me watching if and though that it must have aliens (almost right i suppose with GA in the show) i may even go to the library on monday and get a copy of the book, after all their is more to life than the starship enterprise |
I've always been a great lover of Dickens characters and this is another that the BBC have recreated perfectly :D |

Upper class boy discovers the secret of eternal life in a Punch and Judy man's box. Can the magic of Christmas be saved from the wolves?
This enchanting story was adapted from John Masefield's classic book. It told the tale of how young Kay Harker (Devin Stanfield) helps mysterious wanderer Cole Hawkins (Patrick Troughton).
They're fighting to keep the Box of Delights from falling into the hands of a bunch of evil wolves who are pretending to be clerics. They're led by the insatiably evil Robert Stephens, who, in his quest for immortality is taking on the forces on nature and imprisoning whole choirs in the underground vaults.
Made in 1984, the production was a daring mixture of live action and animation, and included a large number of complicated visual effects. Unusually, a lot of them still look impressive today.
