MACY TURNS TO WHISKY IN BAFTA BOREDOM

BAFTA presenter WILLIAM H MACY sneaked a bottle of whisky into the BAFTAs last night (19FEB06), to stave off the boredom of the ceremony.

Despite handing the Best Supporting Actress award to THANDIE NEWTON, Macy had no-one to support at the bash - his wife FELICITY HUFFMAN was not nominated for her role in TRANSAMERICA - so he decided to entertain himself with a little alcoholic help.

He said, "I've come with a hip flask of Glenfiddich. It's a good way to keep these things interesting. Felicity isn't up for a Bafta but she is for an Oscar, so I'll root for her then
