Yes i liked the ELO references, one of my favourite bands and the good thing was their was on old in concert at wembley gig later on last night on BBC 4 and i would have forgotten about this if it was not for Dr Who.
Sad we are loosing Rose though, Billie Piper has been OK

I take you point - Peter Kay was the best thing in it, & the cameradery of the group was good - but it just wasn't Dr Who!!
That could (or should) have been made as a stand alone BBC3/4 drama (brief cameo for the Dr - ok with me), a quirkly little drama, bit of humour, good plug for Dr Who. But when you only get 13 episodes a year, to waste one on a Russel Davis indulgence is a shame! Sad Sad

To me this was an extravegance long running American tv shows have (e.g. buffy), one episode out of 26 after say a 7 year run - something fans either love or hate, but only 1 episode. To do it after only 1 & a bit series is arrogant by the production crew, at a time when the series I feel has still to win over audiences. I note from 1 website viewing figures are dropping, not a good episode to air in such a climate. I can't see many kids looking back in 20 years & saying "oh that Peter Kay Dr Who episode was brilliant!!"

I wanna see strong Sci fi episodes, that challenge the adult watchers views on things, & scare the kid viewers with memorable monsters!

But that's just my opinion anyway!! Razz Razz Razz Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

What a terrible childrens TV episode of a great drama series that was. Boring, annoying child with bad voice and terrible storyline.

The trailers for next week look excellent, so we know were the budget went. Very Happy

Couldn't agree more! Sad Sad Sad

Though, you've gotta hand it to them, make a monster out of a cheap bit of cartoon work - can't have cost 'em more than £7.34 to do!! Ha Ha!!

Trailer for next week looks good - but............................. my only concern is the use, again, of Torchwood. I've been uneasy since the start of this series about the blatent advertising for the Torchwood series. Sure, bring the Doctor in for the pilot episode if they like, but I wish they would stop mucking about during Dr Who's airtime plugging the show!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

We all know it's coming, we all know it's a spin off of Dr Who, so why the pretense that it's some big theme running through the Dr's adventures!! Mad Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Right!! - Rant over!! Surprised Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Excellent up-date of a classic series!! I think David Tennant is brilliant as the Doctor, he's got the right level of excentricity to make the role work. All we need now is a return of his greatest nemesis - The Master!!!! notworthy notworthy notworthy Laughing Laughing Laughing

I am now one happy man!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Dancing Dancing
