The Highlander Bar is renowned for it's extensive private collection of whisky bottles which are on display. We also have a comprehensive choice of blended and malt whiskies on sale in the bar itself.

After a bit of finding my way round things - I'm in a position at last to leave a few comments!
Yes a 'convention' in Scarborough - or North Yorks would be a great idea.
ll can get trains/public transport - and for me anyway, I could take in a couple of real ales as well as the whiskies!
I might even start blubbering about the delights of Scottish footy!
There Johnny - lets get things sorted!
Cheers! |

There's a little off licence next to the Granby pub in Whitby, that has a few minatures from Gordon and MacPhail hanging around shelves, apparently it's old stock, plus they used to have a few 700ml bottles of interest at one time.
Don't knock Whitby for a holiday, that's where the wife and I go, live in Hull that's heaven! Plus lots of great pubs :veuzelol: _________________ https://www.facebook.com/Let-the-drink-talk-675586225966432/ |

hi johnny
certainly not knocking whitby, they do a mean chicken sarnie in the granby, whitby is only 30 miles from us and we go quite a lot and have had holidays thier mant a time.
bothams for cream cakes though.
glenkinchie would not be a bad place for a convention, they have a nice lounge and i bet the accommodation around is good _________________ i've been on a whisky diet, i've lost 3 days already

I think its just getting everyone together first and then anyone who still likes each other can make further plans!!
I know that when people do get together alot of the people would probably go to Scotland but would want to stay over because of the distance, unfortnately that means alot more organisation than a one day meet.
Edinburghs Whisky museum on the Royal Mile has an excellent range of whiskies so that could be another place to all go eventually. Been a couple of times and I could of sat going through the whisky menu all day _________________ https://www.facebook.com/Let-the-drink-talk-675586225966432/ |
