Always sounds good, i know one other who would be definitely up for it, is registered but hasn't posted yet and maybe one of the new members as well.
That's 4, my problem unfortunately is child popping into the world in 7 weeks so may be pushed for fitting in anything for the next few months.
There's the Whisky Magazine Live in Glasgow in September. I also know a bar in Scarborough which may be half way between us, i think called the Highlander or something along those lines that has a massive whisky selection, all possibilities. Definitely need others feedback, anyone? _________________ https://www.facebook.com/Let-the-drink-talk-675586225966432/ |

OH the end of year should be OK, it's just getting people organised. May see Old Faithful today, try to get him to post and get his ideas on a tasting. What did you think to the Scarborough venue? As far as I know they have many unusal and rare whiskies available, i can recheck.
The best idea would be all to bring a bottle of something ourselves but finding a venue would be hard for a small number and as a first meet the Scarborough idea might be a great way for people to meet up initially. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/Let-the-drink-talk-675586225966432/ |

scarborough would not be a bad venue, never that that it could be the whisky hub of yorkshire though!!! _________________ i've been on a whisky diet, i've lost 3 days already

Hi Talisker, just popped online - sounds like a good idea!! I may just have to have a trial run this lunchtime!! But end of the year sounds good!!
A late starter with whisky, only really been drinking whisky about a year, but am definately an afficianardo of Islay!! !!
Just finishing off a bottle of Bowmore Legend at the moment - I know it's not the best but Macro are selling it for £10.99 at the moment !!
My favourite, at the moment, has got to be Laphroaig cask stength, I also love Lagavulin 16 year old, but been having trouble getting hold of it at the moment. The last bottle I got was £30, but I've seen it recently at an extortionate £45!! |

Hi Talisker
One of your cheapest places maybe the Co-Op in Whitby. Has a wide selection and ever so often has fantastic offers on malts. I once got Glen Grant 10 year old for £12.50 a bottle! I bought a crate of 12, 3 left, it was around 5 years aog though.
Old faithful going to give it a check out tomorrow so he'll keep us posted if theres any bargains to be had. They also use to have a little display cabinet of rare whiskies. So if you find yourself at the seaside!!!! _________________ https://www.facebook.com/Let-the-drink-talk-675586225966432/ |

only a joke johnny, i just had this vision of 10 people sat on the freezers in the co-op with a bottle of malt in each hand trying to have a whisky tasting session and people wanting frozen peas........... _________________ i've been on a whisky diet, i've lost 3 days already
