Excellent episode again, but no need to bring back Rose's father again - they've been there done that last season. Also, couldn't they afford a Davros suit for Roger lloyd Pack????? He played the role of John Lumic, as Davros - right down to the sticato voice!!! Pity the writers couldn't have a bit more imagination!!
But still, an excellent apisode!! |

The old henchmen that gets the people in the van and talks to the guy in the chair is the 'carnie' guy from Carnival of Monsters with Jon Pertwee. I knew I'd seen him somewhere before, now just to verify his name. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/Let-the-drink-talk-675586225966432/ |

Excellent episode again - the series just gets better & better!! Thought the Cybermen where really scary in this one - & really liked the Cyber Controller - hope they bring him back for a longer episode!
Not sure about the leaving Micky bit, they've finally given the character some usefull things to do in recent episodes, & then they get rid of him! Would have been better to turn him into a Cyberman me thinks!!
Next weeks episode looks another good one by the trailer - these are halcion days indeed for Dr Who!! |

Thought this was an "ok" episode this week. The production value looked spot on, but thought the story was very run of the mill.
Don't know why it needed the social comentry on family values circa 1950, as well as it was done? After all this is Dr Who not Eastenders!!
Also thought that "The Wire" was a very 1 dimensional character, after a promising start - though I liked the premise, but thought the Magpie character was played well!
Once again, though, the Dr said he was the highest authority in the universe - which doesn't sit well with me. Part of the charm of the "old" Dr Who, was that he was an intelligent, meddling alien, who took on these "superior" monsters/aliens/god like being, & beat them!! If you have a charater who is essentially "the highest power in the universe" where is the drama/suspense/fun, of him solving a problem or beating an enemy?? My one critisism of this new Dr Who is that he appears infalable/all powerfull. We need to see episodes where he doesn't always win (like say Genesis of the Daleks), or that the best he can get is a draw. That's why I think it's essential that the new series has a character like the Master in it. Without a foil the series is gonna get boring pretty quick.
But enough of my doom mongering!
Hopefully next week will be back to the usualy standard |
