Anyone who remembers the Omega Man http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067525/ with Charlton Heston will probably recall how haunting this film was and the new version looks very impressive and Will Smith has put a lot of time into getting back to the original book.

Hi Johnny,

seen the trailer and it does look like the original updated. Don't think it will have the Woodstock sequence though so wonder if they'll use a Charlton Heston movie Very Happy

The original film was awesome - think it was the first zombie-ish movie I was allowed to watch as a kid!!!! I just wish they would leave these old films alone - is it just me, or does this re-vamp look like another I Robot!! d'oh!

My worry is that Will Smith is a bit too "all American Blockbuster" type of actor, & it may end up being a film about him & his catchphrases. Remember Wild, Wild, West!! Shocked Shocked d'oh!

He's grown as an actor since then. His last film based on a true story of a man and his son living rough was supposed to be very good.

Saw the movie last nite & was impresssed!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

The story kept pretty close to the original, & was quite frightening at times (well for me - someone who hates horror movies!! Anxious Anxious )

The only downside was the CGI zombies looked a bit dodgy (Johnny & Fernando won't like 'em!!! Wink Wink )

Overall a very enjoyable movie!!! Very Happy 3 1/2 out of 5 thumbright

Excellent, I think there supposed to be vampire types created by the chemical warfare that's occurred or release of gases etc. Fernando is quite impressed and again isn't a big Will Smith fan.
