Should only take an hour or so to format and reinstall if you still have the windows SE CD. You'll lose the material on your computer but it won't of harmed it in anyway, is he doing there and then though, or is he taking it in. The problem then is when he gets around to it and when you can get it back. If you have any computer friends or younger relatives they could probably do it for you at home. I know plenty of friends that sort mine out or get me copies of programs if needed. _________________ http://drunkindividualsshouldnotapply.blogspot.co.uk/ |

going to take away tonight and will reinstall windows xp when sorted, he will save any items i ask him to , the only worry was all my photos but had the foresight to up load them to gmail which gives me 25gb of storage, then i am going to sign up to a new isp which could take a couple of weeks so will have to continue using work pcs or go to an intenet cafe. it guy has told me not to worry as he knows the problems and can sort it, about time a bought a laptop _________________ i've been on a whisky diet, i've lost 3 days already

Dell are excellent, keep away from Tiny and others though as very hard to add anything later. |

I think Dell definitely do the best computers and backup for the price, plus you can upgrade them quite easily. Just watch out as you may have to add extras with the original package as even things like USB cables etc aren't always part of the price. |
