There we have many varietals of grape. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, which mixed with Merlot produces strong red wines. But, what I specially like is the grape called Mencia. This grape is typically from this corner of Spain. Mencia wine taste is very fruity, dark red coloured.
Another varietals of white wine we produce are Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay (above all this last one).
My vineyard is in El Bierzo, typically wine region placed in a valley near Galicia.
But, I have terrible news...
Crying or Very sad
Sadly, I have to tell you that I don't know how many years of life will left to this pretty vineyard... The town hall, bloody fuckers, have re-qualified the area and now the vineyard is in a area urbanizable... So, in a couple of years the town hall buy our terrain to build a fucking park or whatever they will going to build there...
Almost a hundred years of history (imagine the amount in gallons of wine) became town hall bull shit... It's a sad story...
Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

You would think they'd want to keep history but sadly in the UK too, building on green areas seems to be too easy an option at the risk of historic and green areas. Sad

Hey, thanks! But it seems that we can't do anything to avoid this destruction...
The village's name is Villafranca del Bierzo. My family's surname is Valdés. You only have to say: No destruyáis la viña de los Valdés para construir en ella ("Don't destroy Valdes' vineyard in order to build in this area").
But there aren't a mail address. There is a place to write your thoughts (a mail box): http://www.villafrancadelbierzo.org/ayuntamiento/archivos/buzon.php. But I think that you need to be a citizen...
The oficial web of the Villafrancas's Town Hall is http://www.villafrancadelbierzo.org
Check out this link: http://sigpac.mapa.es/fega/pdf/AspPrinterProvider.aspx?x1=679765.027666&y1=4719433.788798&x2=680288.858134&y2=4719077.78751&zone=29&images=ORTOFOTOS&layers= Here you could see an aerial view of my village and my vineyard (the one right of the road in the middle of the picture; also you could see my house -upper left corner- and the old cemetery that will be removed with my vineyard; the cemetary is just upside the vineyard in the right corner; and no, there aren't zombies there... yet).

Well, the link didn't work, so I hosted the picture. This is the vineyard, at the right of the road.

Fantastic, thanks for that. Have you tried to stop it being bulldozed because of not being allowed to destroy a graveyard? In this country it is quite hard to turn over sacred land, especially within a 100 years of the last person being buried. If you could find some info on this you may be able to use it to stop the destruction.
