Tasted this one quite a bit last night. cyclops
I bought a case of this several years ago back before Caol Ila OB was available in this country (since then I've been mega-tasting 12yr Caol Ila OB's!).
I really love young Caol Ila's for that fresh, mouth-coating, smack-you-in-the-face peaty smoke as this one is a perfect example of. Smile

11 yr old Caol Ila Signatory Unchillfiltered

Distilled on: 28/01/1991
Bottled on: 12/09/2002

46% Alc./Vol.

Matured in an oak cask
Cask # 1101
Bottle # 20 of 365

Color: Light Bright Gold

Nose: Smoke, Peat, Vanilla, whiffs of iodine

Body: Oily, Mouth-coating, sweet, waves of peat & smoke followed by a salty spray from off The Sound of Islay.

Finish: A smokey sweet-peat lingers on for a long, long time.

I give this one an 8.5 out of 10

Hi Wave, I've tasted this one:

CAOL-ILA 1984

40%

Gordon and Mac Phail,

Connoisseur Choice.

Dry, earthy medicinal nose.Certainly warms the cockles, nose of bonfire.

6.5/7

Early tasting notes, so bit lacking in information, must retry Laughing
