Well, thinking about Michael J. Fox, I started to think about how wonderful were the 80's teenage heroes in comparison with... mmmm... err... Harry Potter.

Why not begin with Corey Feldman? He was one of the greatest! The magnificent Mouth from Goonies, the weird son of a US marine of Stand by me... I have the oportunity to see him at the cinema during a sci-fi festival in Madrid last year as the main character of an incredible Lovecraftian (Lovecratianian? Lovecra... err... no matter) movie: THE BIRTHDAY (2004) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402063/ .

Another great hero was another Corey, Corey Haim. His best known first roles were as a boy with some sort of troubles, in Lucas he is the "special" boy called Lucas during schoolyears and in Silver Bullet he is a paralitic boy who is cappable to fight against a werewolf.

In Lost boys we had the chance to see both coreys together (MARVELLOUS!):

Kirk Cameron
: this list would be unfinished without this guy... A couple of months ago I was looking for info about Kirk work today... GOD DAMMIT! He's a tele evangelist!!! A TV preacher of TBN!!!! Well, everyone remember the end of many episodes of Growing pains when Kirk appeared at the end saying seriously: "it's not good use trick in exams, consume drugs, or lie to your parents as I did in this episode, never do what I did" or things like this one. He promised to be good as a TV preacher... Laughing Did you know that his sister is Candace Cameron? (The older daughter in Full house.)

Noah Hathaway: Atreyu, one of the bravest teenage of the world, deserves being part of this list. And his hateful role as Boxey iin Battlestar Gallactica allways worried about Sparky, the ape with space doggy outfit...

And Michael J. Fox:

Sure I forgot many others brilliant teenage heroes from 80's... Who? Tell me...

One more thing about Harry Potter. There is a film with Noah Hathaway as Harry Potter Jr called Troll: [url]http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092115/[url] Michael Moriarty is Harry Potter Sr. But, it seems that this Harry isn't a sorcerer... Bit a bit I start to remember that I have seen this movie... perhaps his second part, Troll 2... Confused

At least the one who became the TV evangelist survived, others died of drugs or were addicted to substances for years. Child stars always seem to have problems, lots of money and a childs mind, not a good combination for rational decisions - I'd just divorce my parents, move in with Michael Jackson and go for a drink at the Viper club Laughing Laughing Laughing

I'm agree with you... Poor little boys...
I believe that Corey Feldman gave up consuming drugs in the last years... well, probably not.
It's true, Kirk Cameron is the one in best conditions (physically, mentally and with money). He created a hughe farm to help boys in troubles (and, I suppose, to bring them between the arms of his God... better evangelist than dead, it's clear to me).
